Hey There
My training techniques come from life experience as well as theory. I practice what I preach and find physical fitness, goal setting and nutrition to, not only improve me physically but have a positive effect emotionally. It´s a great way to de-stress and has pulled me out of a rut that is experienced by all people at some stage in their lives. Training is the best way to boost your energy levels! I believe that when you feel fit and healthy, you also feel equipped to achieve more in all areas of your life.

Prior to training as a Personal Trainer I was in security for many years, before leaving to follow my passion for fitness and wellbeing. I have been training for 25+ years in martial arts, competing all over the world and have a 3rd Dan in Shotokan Karate.

Working as a Personal Trainer means using my knowledge and experience to motivate and inspire others to reach beyond what they think is possible. It's not only about helping someone achieve a short-term goal, but about changing someone's lifestyle and mindset towards fitness.

Combining my experience and passion for fitness and combat, I aim to deliver realistic fitness programmes tailored to you. Factoring in your home and work life, your aspirations, your physical and time limitations. I work alongside you the entire time and with my guidance and motivation you will succeed in meeting your goals.

There are benefits to working both 1-2-1 and in groups, it all depends on the way that makes you feel most comfortable. 1-2-1 sessions enable me to really focus on just you and your goals, whereas group sessions with friends/family can help more introverted people to gain the benefits of personal training without the spotlight being on just them.

Whichever you prefer I tailor each session to your goals, individually as well as collectively.

Martial Arts
It all started when I was a child and saw my cousins taking part in martial arts classes. I wanted to be just like them and started trying to copy what they were doing. I was eventually invited to my very first class and from there my martial arts story begins.

At just 8 years old, under the guidance of Sensei Eric Wood, I started to learn Karate. I learnt so many things during this time, discipline, patience, understanding and confidence were just some of the things that helped to shape me into the person I am today.
During my 8 years training under Nakams, I became Sensei, Eric Wood’s first Black Belt, Shodan in June 2002. During this time, I also got my first taste of competing. Attending championships and gaining medals gives you an amazing sense of achievement as well as teaching you how to deal with knock backs. Eric also started to teach me weapons, Sia’s and Nunchakus, as well as board breaking.

By the age of 16 I stopped attending Dojo, but that wasn’t where my journey ended. I continued learning and training in my own time. I met new instructors and Sensei’s who taught me so many different things. Learning boxing, kickboxing and anything else related to combat that I could possibly try.
After 10 years I got the urge to go back to the Dojo. Finding Sensei Fred Daniels was fantastic. He reminded me how Eric Wood trained me. Now under him, KWF and Gima-Ha I improved my karate becoming a 2nd Dan Black Belt, Nidan in September 2014 and a 3rd Dan Black Belt, Sandan in 2018.

From this I improved so much more than I ever could have if I had stuck to doing it on my own. I began competing again after attending the world championship in Denmark 2011. Going to National, International and Grand Prix Championship competitions where I gained golds, slivers and bronzes.
I continued enhancing my weapon skills in Bo Staff and Nunchakus whilst still keeping my hand in Sia’s and learning Kali Sticks. I also continued breaking more boards but at different thicknesses. But also learning to breath and slow down with the basics of martial arts. I also began attending seminars and learning from even more instructors and sensei’s, including Yahara Sensei, Abe Sensei, Sidoli Sensei, Wayne Sensei, Joe Kellaway, Tony Atkinson and many more
During this time, I became runner up for Sports Women of the year 2016 for my work in karate.
This all led me to where I am today, which is helping people achieve their fitness goals through various different forms of fitness, including Martial Arts. Whether you want to learn Martial Arts for self-defence, to gain discipline or simply as a different way to keep fit, I tailor your sessions to your preferences and to help you gain the most out of them.
